Permanent Secretary’s visit to Entebbe Municipal Council and Bukalasa Land Office was successful.
In Entebbe, he inspected the USMID roads which are at 95% completion. These included Church road, Basudde Rise, Fulu road and Nyondo Road.
The work is being done by Longjian Road & Bridge Co. Ltd at a cost of Ug shs 6,447,677,600. The ongoing works include casting walkways, drainage covers, installing solar street lights and beautification of the roads.
The PS was impressed and appreciated the work done by the company who have committed themselves to hand over the roads by 30th September, 2015.
Next stop was Bukalasa Land Office. where the PS tasked the staff to explain why there are numerous complaints about delayed service delivery. ‘ Bukalasa has a very bad name, numerous reports have been received that clients can’t get any documents without paying!’
He asked them to style up and improve on service delivery. He informed them that he does not want to hear any staff inform clients that their white pages were missing, because it is not true.
The PS later inspected the land where the Ministry Zonal Office is to be built under the Competitiveness & Enterprise Development Project (CEDP).
Luwero will serve as the regional office so that Clients from the surrounding districts will no longer have to come to Kampala for certain services as the case has been
